Weekly Catch Report 05/04/08

Rouge

Rouge kicked off the season in good style for our three guests from Yorkshire. Fishing from the double swim on Rouge, they banked some great fish during some up and down weather Despite some warm sunny afternoons, the temperature dropped at night, including on heavy frost, when the temperature fell to -5.

However, this did not stop the boys from catching carp up to 32lbs, including two thirty pluses and several twenties. The biggest fish was reserved for the last afternoon, and came along at exactly the same time as a nice sized catfish.

On the catfish front, the biggest fish of the week was a cracking 45lber. This was one of a number caught, even in the cold weather. Fair play to Danny for getting in to have his photo taken in the water - even if he was hiding chest waders underneath his t-shirt!

Thanks for your company throughout the week guys, and we hope to see you again in the future!

Vert

Although not booked this week, the anglers from Bleu popped up for a couple of quick afternoon session, and had some typically frantic sport. The highlight was a 20lb mirror, amongst a catch of fish fish in just a couple of hours.

Bleu

Two long-standing Exclusive Angling Holidays customers fish Bleu, targeting the big catfish. They were rewarded in the shape of a stunning 65lb specimen that picked up the only carp bait in the water, fished to the island.

Along with this beauty, they had Carp to 27lbs amongst a 20 fish haul in tricky conditions. The lake seemed to be fishing mainly during darkness, including one evening that produced over 30 runs - and only one fish banked. Small cats punching above their weight, and taking large sections of squid were the most likely cause for this mmost frustrating of nights.

As ever chaps, thank you for your custom. It was a pleasure to see you again, and I almost daren't tell you what's come out of the lake this week...!
